Last Saturday Billy and I went to Williamsburg to photograph Schuyler and Michael’s gorgeous wedding. They are the nicest couple ever, and it was such a pleasure to share their day with them. Both the ceremony and reception were held at Williamsburg Lodge, a lovely historic site. The day was warm and beautiful and we really couldn’t have asked for anything better! Here are a few detail shots from the venue:
Yesterday my good friend Sarah and I got our dogs (and cat) together to play outside in the beautiful weather. Biggie (my Boston terrier) loves having friends over, so Mae (Sarah’s beagle) and Gracie (also Sarah’s) had a fun time in the yard together fighting over toys. Minnie the cat chose to watch from the safe post of Sarah’s arms. They are so funny together. Until they encourage one another to run after buzzards in the neighboring field and we have to go chasing after them. Ha. Here are a few pics. Also, Gracie always has the funniest expressions, so I had to put 3 up of her. Sorry, Bigs and Mae. She’s just the showboat.
I know I should be talking about all the big derby hats and the horse races and all that, but to be honest my favorite part about my weekend in Louisville was Proof! Jessica is a big fan, and took us to check out this Museum/Hotel/Restaurant in downtown Louisville. The hotel part is called 21C, and it is connected to the restaurant, Proof. The artwork and installations spread throughout the whole, which makes for an awesome experience no matter which part you enter.
Some museum highlights:
And now for the place where Jen and Jessica and I could have spent the rest of our lives. On the wall behind the elevators, the museum has set up an installation-type real-time camera that records and projects you as you walk by, while at the same time displaying tetris-like letters which fall all around you. The letters will stick around the image of your body on the wall and actually allow you to interact with them. You can move and push them around and it is a ridiculous amount of fun. We literally played around here for an hour at least, and even got some shots with people going to and from their rooms. Check it out!
I just can’t get over it! So so fun and creative.
Getting the crowd involved:
All three of us!
Jessica and Jen, working it.
A lot of these wall shots were taken on Jen‘s camera, too, so be sure to check her out!
The first weekend of May my friend Jen and I visited my fabulous friend Jessica in Louisville! We spent the weekend attending the Derby and falling in love with Jessica’s AMAZING house and adorable kittens. Here is a picture of Murphy trying to get in on brunch Derby morning:
